Baseball was introduced in Malaysia in 1998, when the country sent a team to the Pre-Asian Games in Bangkok, Thailand. Since then, interest in the sport has continued to grow, particularly at the school level. As part of the ongoing efforts to promote baseball at the grassroots level, the Malaysia Baseball Federation (BFM) has taken the initiative to organize the U9 and U11 Tee-Ball Championships. Tee-Ball is a modified version of baseball designed to introduce the sport to young children through simplified rules that are appropriate to their age and skill level. In addition to developing motor coordination, focus, and discipline, Tee-Ball provides an effective platform for identifying and nurturing young talents while fostering an early interest in baseball. The organization of this tournament also supports the government's efforts to enhance student participation in sports through comprehensive grassroots sports development programmes. The third edition of the championship will bring together State Baseball Associations, baseball clubs, and schools from across Malaysia, further establishing the tournament as a prestigious annual national-level sporting event.
